One of the greatest benefits of the Web is the democratization of information.
No longer is solid research the exclusive property of the few companies who could afford to pay for the information.
I started finding PDFs that people unknowingly left on the Web by using Google Alerts.
That worked well, but it’s getting easier to find top-quality research without having to be surreptitious about it.
One tool I have started using is Focus.com. (Here’s my profile). This site lets you read legitimate research reports. Better still, it appears to be developing a community of people, so that you can connect with other people who are interested in the same kind of research as you.
I haven’t been involved long enough yet to take advantage of this, but I’m eager to see how well the system works.

- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Pay per click (PPC) advertising
- Social networking
- Financial services marketing
- Life science marketing
